THE DESIGN PROCESS IN BRIEF:
UPCYCLING:
STATIONERY SPARROW

A stationery holder made almost entirely of discarded objects from Clementi and an accompanying A5 flyer. The piece was inspired by the sparrow playground that was unique to the Clementi residential estate until its demolishment in 2012.

The discarded upcycled objects include a ruler in Chinese measurement, a sand-coloured rectangular tile, an old shelf made of solid wood, porcelain knob handles and compressed chipboard from a more modern cupboard. Industrial glue and white glue were used to adhere the piece together.

The Stationery Sparrow was exhibited the “Celebrating Found Objects” exhibition at NAIISE at The Cathay with 20 others from 3rd Nov to 2nd Dec 2016. It was sold to an unknown party partway through the month-long exhibition.
